چکیده

We consider a service facility system with perishable inventory with finite number of servers. Each server having one perishable item for providing service. The arrival of a customer at the system according to independent Poisson Processes with rate  through a single channel. The service time of the customer is exponentially distributed with mean  1/ and the item in stock has exponential life time with perishability rate 0) (>  . The free servers are occupied by the new customer, entering for service. The maximum level of item in stock is 0 > ) (= c S . The replenishment of inventory is instantaneous, when the inventory level comes to zero. Customers can be rejected from the system only when all the servers are busy that is, there is no waiting line. Transition probabilities are obtained from the two dimensional process. The problem is modeled as a Semi Markov decision process and we use the modified Value Iteration algorithm to obtain the minimum average loss rate.

A single server perishable inventory system with N additional options for service

This article presents a perishable (s; S) inventory system under continuous review at a service facility in which a waiting hall for customers is of nite size M. The arrival instants of customers to the service station constitutes a Poisson process. The life time of each items is assumed to be exponential. All arriving customers demand the rst "essential" service, whereas only some of them dema...

Markov Process for Service Facility systems with perishable inventory and analysis of a single server queue with reneging - Stochastic Model

ABSTRACT In this paper, we develop a supply network model for a service facility system with perishable inventory (on hand) by considering a two dimensional stochastic process of the form (L, X) =   0 )); ( ), ( (  t t X t L , where L (t) is the level of the on hand inventory and X (t) is the number of customers at time t. The inter-arrival time to the service station is assumed to be expone...

Limit Distribution of Inventory Level of Perishable Inventory Model

This paper studies a perishable inventory model, which assumes that each perishable item has finite lifetime, and only one item is consumed each time. The lifetimes of perishable items are independent random variables with the general distribution and so are the consumption internal. Under this assumption, by using backward equations and limit distribution of Markov skeleton processes, this pap...

Optimal Policies in Continuous Time Inventory Control Models with Limited Supply

In this paper, we deal with the problem of a fixed number of units of a certain perishable commodity over a continuous time horizon. Airline seats, hotel rooms, advertising space in newspapers, and some seasonal products that must be sold before the end of the season are examples of such commodities that cannot be carried over and are not storable for consumers. This paper considers such a prob...
